Labor Day in West Michigan. Posted on August 29, 2017. Labor Day at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville means a weekend full of family fun. Activities include Crystal Coaster Alpine Slide, Vertical Edge Climbing Wall, Paintball, and more. With past headliners including Michael Feinstein, Bob James, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Arturo. BIRTHDAY LEGEND!!! - Elvis Presley (1935-1977) I don’t think that I need to tell anyone who Elvis Presley was. While you may not typically think of him as being associated with the Great American Songbook it’s impossible to think about moving the songbook forward without including Elvis. “ The superb climate and spectacular mountain views all add to a festive atmosphere with wide open viewing, outdoor big screens and lots of restaurants from the most modest to the high end. “ Was here for the BNP Paribas and other than super hot 9it is the desert), this is a beautiful facility. Saw tennis on both the outer courts as well.

It has been many years since Ol’ Blue Eyes graced the stage in Las Vegas and 23 years since his last live performance at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California.

Many of us still miss that man. We miss his dulcet tones, the way he captured an audience from the very first note, taking them to great heights with “Fly Me To the Moon” and plunging them to the depths of loneliness with “One For My Baby,” touching on every emotion in between, sharing his soul with us through his music.

Memories of many Frank Sinatra shows at Vegas casinos – The Sands, Caesars Palace, Desert Inn, Golden Nugget – came flooding back the other day when we saw the press release from the Italian American Club announcing a tribute to the Chairman of the Board on Friday, May 4, featuring tribute artist Dave Halston.

Halston has impressed many with his performances, including Frank’s window Barbara Sinatra, who was brought to tears by Halston’s rendition of “My Way,” Frank’s signature song. He has also entertained Jeanne Martin (Mrs. Dean Martin), recording artists Michael Feinstein and Steve Tyrell, and Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton. Critics have called his performance “stunning” and “spot on.”

Sinatra was a lifetime member of the iconic club on east Sahara Avenue, which was established in 1961, and routinely performed there in the early days with Dean Martin and Perry Como often joining him on stage.

Over the years, many of Las Vegas’ biggest names dropped in as members or supporters such as Tony Bennett, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Joe DiMaggio, Jerry Lewis, Vic Damone and Jimmy Durante to name a few.

According to club president Angelo Cassaro, “Sinatra would be thrilled to death with one of the most impressive restaurant revivals in Las Vegas. Part of his roots was laying the foundation of this club over 50 years ago.”

We can’t think of a more fitting place for this wonderful show that comes almost 20 years to the day of Sinatra’s death on May 14, 1998.

Halston will be accompanied by his Little Big Band. Tickets for the show, a production of Tribute Masters LLC, are just $25 and can be purchased online at www.iacvegas.com.
